What the claims cover, in plain language
Claim 1 - a card stand with an outer ring, an inner ring and a card holder. The rings are concentric; the outer ring has an upward-opening track, the inner ring an outward-opening track and three feet. The card holder has a bottom wheel in the middle of its underside, a side wheel at its side end and an upward-opening card slot. The bottom wheel runs in the outer track and the side wheel in the inner track, so the holder moves around the inner ring on the outer ring.
Claim 2 - an entry gap in the outer ring matched to the bottom wheel. Claim 3 - an entry gap in the inner ring matched to the side wheel. Claim 4 - the card slot opens obliquely upward. Claims 5-6 - one or more card holders, and a further feature described in the patent.
This is a simplified reading for orientation only. The legal scope is defined by the exact claim wording in the official Chinese document.
What this means for US production
This patent was filed only in China and has been abandoned, so it no longer restricts anyone in China either. It has no US or other foreign counterpart.
Two points to settle early:
- Other patents may exist. Desk organizers and card holders are mostly protected by US design patents on their shapes; a freedom-to-operate (FTO) review, focused on design patents for rotating desk organizers, should come before tooling.
- Smooth rolling. The trays should glide without rattling or jamming; wheel and track tolerances are set on tooled samples.
Customization and manufacturing
What can be customized
| Area | Options |
|---|---|
| Size | Ring diameter and number of trays; tray width for business, appointment or photo cards |
| Materials | Acrylic, ABS, aluminum or wood-look rings; clear or colored trays |
| Wheels | Molded plastic or POM wheels for quiet rolling |
| Base | Three feet, a solid base plate, or a weighted base |
| Branding | Logo on trays or base, color sets for departments |
| Packaging | Retail box, promo bulk pack, gift set with matching desk items |
Things to plan for (US market)
- California Prop 65 - check plastics, metal finishes and printing inks.
- Small parts if sold to children - loose wheels and trays would need a choking warning or a design that keeps parts captive; office versions should be labelled for adult use.
- Country-of-origin marking - required on the product or its packaging for imported goods.
How a project runs
- Inquiry - card size, number of trays, materials and quantity.
- Design - ring and tray dimensions, wheel and track fit, branding layout.
- Prototype - samples tested for smooth rolling, tray loading and stability.
- Pilot run - small batch for finish, printing and packaging checks.
- Production - volume production, packaging and shipping.
Quantities & timeline
The rings, trays and wheels need injection molds (or acrylic cutting and bending for clear versions), the wheels need pins or snap axles, and decoration needs printing set-up. This is a simple product to tool; most development time goes into the wheel and track fit. Send us your card size, tray count, materials, quantity and target price and we will reply with options.
