Financial Bill Box with Built-In Calendar and Movable Partitions

Finance departments handle stacks of receipts, invoices and vouchers every day. Sorting them by date usually means writing on folders or flipping through loose papers. This box keeps documents standing upright inside adjustable compartments, while a built-in calendar system on the outside and on each divider shows exactly which month and date the contents belong to. A month turntable on the side walls displays twelve numbers, aligned with a fixed indicator line. Inside, slide rails run along the length of the box so you can add, remove or shift the partitions to fit thick or thin batches of paper. Each partition holds a hollow rectangular bar with numbered date slots and a movable buckle that snaps onto the correct day. The result is a single container where every section is labeled by month and date without extra tags or labels.

The problem

Finance teams, accounting offices and administrative departments collect large volumes of receipts, invoices, reimbursement forms and vouchers daily. Storing these documents in standard file boxes makes it difficult to find a specific transaction later, because the papers are stacked together without clear visual separation by date. Adding sticky notes or printed labels takes time, and those labels often fall off or become unreadable. When staff need to pull records for a particular day or month, they must open multiple folders and sort through loose sheets manually. A dedicated container that integrates date tracking directly into the structure would reduce this sorting effort and keep documents standing upright and separated.

The solution

The patent describes a financial bill box that solves this by combining a physical calendar mechanism with adjustable internal dividers.

  1. The box body (1) is formed by four sides and a bottom surface, creating an open-top or lidded container sized to hold standard financial documents.
  2. On the two opposite sides in the width direction, a month turntable (1.3) is installed. This turntable is engraved with twelve month numbers. A fixed month indicator line (1.1) is positioned above the turntable so the user can rotate the dial until the current month aligns with the line.
  3. Inside the box body (1), several freely movable partitions (2) stand upright to separate documents into distinct sections.
  4. Each partition (2) carries a date indicating device. This device includes a hollow rectangular bar (2.3) attached to the partition. Along the lower edge of the rectangular bar (2.3), several date slots (2.4) are opened to mark different dates.
  5. A buckle (2.5) fits into one of the date slots (2.4), allowing the user to select and display a specific date for that compartment.
  6. To enable smooth adjustment, slide rails (1.4) are provided on the opposite sides of the box body (1) in the length direction. These slide rails (1.4) can be detached from and connected to the box body (1).
  7. Both sides of each partition (2) feature a ring (2.1) that connects to the slide rail (1.4). The ring (2.1) is set on the slide rail (1.4) and slides freely along it.
  8. Additionally, both sides of the partition (2) have sliding hooks (2.2) that engage with the upper edge of the opposite side in the length direction. The sliding hooks (2.2) slide freely along that upper edge, keeping the partition stable. The sliding hook (2.2) is positioned under the ring (2.1).
  9. A hollow round hole (1.2) is opened in the center of the month turntable (1.3), which may serve as a finger grip or mounting point.

Who it is for

  • Hospital and clinic billing departments that process patient receipts and insurance vouchers daily and need to sort them by treatment date.
  • Corporate accounting teams managing employee reimbursement forms, where each batch corresponds to a specific submission date.
  • Wholesale distributors of office supplies looking for specialized filing products to offer to business clients beyond standard magazine files.
  • Amazon sellers and e-commerce brands in the office organization niche seeking a differentiated document storage product with built-in indexing features.

2.4Date slotOpenings along the lower edge of the bar marking different dates.
2.5BuckleSelects a specific date by fitting into a date slot.

Operating steps

  1. Set the month - Rotate the month turntable (1.3) on the side wall until the desired month number aligns with the month indicator line (1.1).
  2. Position the partitions - Slide the partitions (2) along the slide rails (1.4) using the rings (2.1) and sliding hooks (2.2) to create compartments wide enough for the expected document volume.
  3. Select the date - On each partition, push the buckle (2.5) into the date slot (2.4) on the hollow rectangular bar (2.3) that matches the date of the documents placed behind it.
  4. Insert documents - Stand the bills, receipts or vouchers upright in the compartment between two partitions.
  5. Adjust as needed - Because the slide rails (1.4) are detachable, they can be removed for cleaning or replaced if damaged. The partitions slide freely to accommodate changing workloads.

Applications

Hospital finance offices

Medical facilities generate dated receipts for outpatient visits, lab tests and pharmacy purchases. Staff can set the month turntable to the current period and use the buckles on each partition to mark the exact processing date, keeping vouchers sorted without manual labeling.

Corporate reimbursement sorting

Employees submit expense claims on various days. Accounting teams can dedicate one compartment per submission date, moving the partitions wider when a particular day brings a heavy stack of receipts.

Tax preparation workspaces

During tax season, accountants organize client documents chronologically. The built-in calendar dials provide a quick visual reference of the month and date for each folder section, reducing the chance of misfiled papers.

Retail back-office filing

Store managers file daily sales reports and supplier invoices. The box allows them to separate paperwork by the day it was generated, using the date slots on the hollow rectangular bar instead of writing on individual folders.

Archival staging areas

Before documents are moved to long-term storage, they sit in temporary boxes. This design keeps the staging batch clearly indexed by date, so retrieval staff know exactly which compartment holds the target record.

Where it is less suitable

  • Large-format blueprints or legal-size ledgers - the box dimensions are intended for standard financial slips and vouchers; oversized documents require larger archival containers.
  • High-security document storage - the patent describes an open organizational box, not a fireproof or lockable safe for sensitive materials.
  • Digital-only workflows - offices that have fully eliminated paper receipts will not need a physical bill box.

Frequently asked questions

How does the month turntable work?

A dial engraved with twelve month numbers is mounted on the opposite sides of the box in the width direction. You rotate the turntable until the desired month aligns with a fixed indicator line positioned above it. A hollow round hole in the center of the dial assists with turning or mounting.

How do I set the date for each compartment?

Each movable partition carries a hollow rectangular bar. Along the lower edge of this bar, there are several date slots. A small buckle fits into one of these slots to mark the specific date for the documents stored behind that partition.

Can the partitions be removed entirely?

Yes. The slide rails on the lengthwise sides of the box body are designed to be detached from and connected to the box. The partitions attach to these rails via rings and sliding hooks, so removing the rails allows the partitions to be taken out.

How do the partitions stay upright while sliding?

Each side of the partition has a ring that sits on the slide rail, and a sliding hook positioned under the ring that engages the upper edge of the box’s lengthwise side. This combination allows the partition to slide freely while remaining vertical.

What size documents fit inside?

The patent does not specify exact dimensions. The box body includes four sides and a bottom surface, and the internal width and length are to be confirmed in design based on the target paper format, such as standard receipts or vouchers.

What materials are used?

The patent text does not list specific materials. Material choices, such as injection-molded plastic, sheet metal or wood composite, are set in design and confirmed on prototypes based on the buyer’s requirements.

Can this design be made and sold in the US?

The patent was filed only in China and is now lapsed (terminated for non-payment of annual fees, recorded 2026-04-21), so it does not restrict the design in the US or in China. Other US patents related to office organizers may exist, so we recommend a freedom-to-operate check before volume production.
