Updated October 28, 2026Portable Water Cup with Built-In Motorized Stirring Mechanism
Mixing protein powder or drink mixes by hand leaves clumps and takes time, especially when you are away from a kitchen. This portable water cup solves that by building the stirring mechanism directly into the lid assembly. The cup lid screws onto the cup body using spiral threads. Above the lid sits a cavity containing a support column, which holds a rotating locking shaft. A rechargeable portion powers a locking motor connected to the shaft. At the front of the shaft, a sliding first locking part uses a plate, casting lugs, and bolts to attach to a stirring head that hangs down into the cup. When activated by touch controllers seated in locking holes within the slide chamber, the stirring motor drives the shaft through a belt and runners, spinning the stirring head to mix the contents. The locking parts allow the stirring head to be installed and removed quickly, keeping the structure simple while improving the stirring process.

The problem
When mixing powdered drinks, protein supplements, or flavor additives into water on the go, manual shaking often leaves dry clumps stuck to the bottom or sides of the bottle. Carrying a separate spoon or whisk is inconvenient, and standard battery-operated stirrers usually require multiple loose parts that are easy to lose during travel. Users need a single unit where the mixing tool is integrated, powered reliably, and easy to clean without disassembling complex electronics.
The solution
This design integrates the entire stirring mechanism into the lid assembly of a portable water cup.
- The cup lid (4) screws onto the cup body (3) using spiral threads (41).
- A cavity (6) sits at the top of the cup lid. Its bottom surface holds a fixed support column (61).
- A rotating locking shaft (5) is mounted inside the support column, extending forward and backward.
- A rechargeable portion (53) inside the locking shaft powers a locking motor (55) at the rear of an inner locking rotating shaft (551).
- At the front end of the locking shaft, a first locking part (8) slides into place. It consists of a plate (86), a first casting lug (82), a first bolt (83), and a second bolt (85).
- A stirring head (7) connects to the first locking part via a second locking part (71) featuring a clamping hole (72) and a connection slot (73).
- A stirring motor (62) fixed behind the support column drives the shaft through a first runner (52), a second runner (621), and a conveyer belt (622).
- Touch controllers (541) inside locking holes (54) in the slide chamber (51) activate the motor.

Who it is for
- Drinkware brands looking to add a self-mixing model to their catalog for fitness or outdoor consumers who want hands-free blending.
- Amazon private-label sellers sourcing electronic water bottles that differentiate themselves from standard shaker bottles with mechanical parts.
- Promotional product wholesalers supplying branded tech-drinkware to corporate clients, gyms, or sports teams.
- Outdoor and camping gear distributors offering portable hydration solutions where carrying extra utensils is impractical.
How it works
The main parts

| No. | Part | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | Cup body | Holds the liquid to be mixed. |
| 4, 41 | Cup lid and spiral threads | Seals the cup body; houses the mechanism. |
| 6, 61 | Cavity and support column | Structural base inside the lid for the motors and shaft. |
| 5, 51 | Rotating locking shaft and slide chamber | Transfers rotation to the stirring head; houses locking holes. |
| 53 | Rechargeable portion | Provides electrical power to the locking motor. |
| 55, 551 | Locking motor and inner locking shaft | Drives the locking action and rotation. |
| 62, 621, 622 | Stirring motor, second runner, conveyer belt | Drives the rotating locking shaft via the first runner (52). |
| 8, 82, 83, 85 | First locking part, lug, bolts | Sliding interface that secures the stirring head. |
| 7, 71, 72 | Stirring head, second locking part, clamping hole | Mixes the liquid; locks onto the first casting lug. |
| 54, 541 | Locking holes and touch controllers | User interface to start the motor. |
Operating steps
- Fill the cup - pour water and powder into the cup body (3).
- Close the lid - screw the cup lid (4) onto the cup body using the spiral threads (41).
- Activate the motor - touch the touch controllers (541) inside the locking holes (54) of the slide chamber (51).
- Stirring begins - the stirring motor (62) turns the second runner (621), pulling the conveyer belt (622) to spin the first runner (52) and the rotating locking shaft (5).
- Mix the drink - the stirring head (7) spins inside the cup body, dissolving the contents.
- Remove the head - slide the first locking part (8) out to detach the stirring head (7) via the clamping hole (72) and connection slot (73) for cleaning.

Applications
Gym and fitness centers
Athletes mixing protein powder or pre-workout supplements between sets often lack access to spoons or blenders. The motorized stirring head dissolves thick powders evenly inside the sealed cup, saving time and preventing clumps during short rest periods.
Office desks and workspaces
Workers mixing instant coffee, tea, or nutritional shakes at their desks can use the touch controller to stir their drinks. The integrated lid means there are no loose stirring rods to wash in the office sink or misplace in drawers.
Camping and hiking trips
Outdoor enthusiasts need lightweight gear without sacrificing functionality. By combining the water bottle and the mixer into one rechargeable unit, hikers avoid packing separate whisks or relying on vigorous shaking that can spill liquids if the lid is not fully secured.
Commuting and travel
Passengers on trains or in cars cannot easily shake a bottle without spilling or disturbing others. The touch-activated stirring mechanism allows users to mix meal-replacement shakes smoothly while seated, keeping the motion contained entirely inside the cup body.
Where it is less suitable
- Hot beverages above the rated temperature - the patent does not specify thermal limits for the electronic components in the lid cavity, so boiling liquids may damage the rechargeable portion or motors.
- Dishwasher cleaning of the lid - the cavity contains motors, touch controllers, and a rechargeable portion, meaning the lid assembly likely requires hand washing or careful wiping rather than full submersion.
- Heavy industrial mixing - this is designed for soluble drink powders and liquids, not for thick batters, viscous pastes, or heavy food processing tasks.
Frequently asked questions
How does the stirring head attach to the lid?
The patent describes a first locking part on the rotating shaft that includes a plate, a first casting lug, and bolts. The stirring head has a second locking part with a clamping hole that matches the diameter of the casting lug, and a connection slot for the bolt. This allows the head to slide into place and lock quickly for installation or removal.
What powers the stirring mechanism?
A rechargeable portion is located inside the rotating locking shaft, electrically connected to a locking motor. A separate stirring motor fixed behind the support column drives the shaft using a conveyer belt stretched between a first runner on the shaft and a second runner on the motor.
How do you turn the stirrer on?
The slide chamber at the front end of the locking shaft contains locking holes in its upper and lower inner walls. Touch controllers are installed in these holes. Pressing them activates the locking motor.
Is the cup dishwasher safe?
The patent does not specify washing instructions. Because the lid cavity houses a rechargeable portion, motors, and touch controllers, the lid assembly would likely need to be wiped clean or washed carefully to avoid water entering the slide chamber, while the cup body itself could be washed normally depending on its material.
What materials can the cup body be made from?
The patent text does not limit the cup body material. In production, it can be made from glass, stainless steel, or plastics like Tritan or polypropylene, provided they meet food-contact standards.
How much liquid does it hold?
The patent does not state a specific volume. The capacity is set in design and confirmed on prototypes based on the buyer’s requirements, typically ranging from about 12 to 20 ounces for portable drinkware.
Can this design be made and sold in the US?
The patent was filed only in China and has no US counterpart, so this specific document does not restrict making or selling the design in the United States. However, the patent remains in force in China until at most 2037-06-14 (if annual fees are paid), meaning production there requires the owner’s permission. Other companies hold US patents in the portable mixing cup space, so a freedom-to-operate review is recommended before volume production.
