What the claims cover, in plain language
Claim 1 - a rotating basket comprising a rotation support part, a storage rack rotatably connected to it, a rotary positioning disc, and a positioning piece. The disc has multiple arc-shaped radial inward protruding elastic guiding positioning parts around the rotation axis, forming a positioning clamping area between adjacent parts. The positioning piece has an arc-shaped convex positioning surface matched to the guides. The disc is at the bottom of the rack or the support, and the piece is on the opposite part. Turning the rack deforms the guides, and the elastic force snaps the piece into the next clamping area to position the rack. Both ends of the guides connect to the side wall of the disc’s middle space, leaving a clearance area inside the guides.
Claim 2 - an elastic support is placed between the middle of the guide and the side wall of the clearance area. Claim 3 - the guide and support are integrally injection molded with the disc as a slender elastic structure; or the guide is a metal piece fixed by secondary injection molding, a connecting piece, or a clamping connection. Claim 4 - there are 4 elastic guides forming 4 clamping areas for 90-degree positioning; the rack is square, aligning one side parallel to the front when locked. Claim 5 - both ends of the positioning piece in the rotation direction have arc-shaped end portions. Claim 6 - the rack connects to the support by bearings. Claim 7 - a storage cabinet comprising a cabinet body with an opening, a hinged door, a bracket inside, and multiple rotary baskets from claims 1-6 fixed on the bracket with the rotation center in the middle of the cabinet. Claim 8 - the bracket connects to the cavity by a guide mechanism, has a post, and the support has a connecting arm fixed to the post.
This is a simplified reading for orientation only. The legal scope is defined by the exact claim wording in the official Chinese document.
What this means for US production
This patent was filed only in China and is currently in force there. Making or selling this exact rotary basket design in China needs the owner’s permission. There is no US or other foreign counterpart.
Two points to settle early:
- Other patents may exist. Wolfgang Held holds a later international filing (WO2025181186A1) citing this patent, indicating ongoing patent activity in the field of rotary cabinet organizers. Other companies hold US patents for turntable mechanisms and cabinet inserts, so a freedom-to-operate (FTO) review of the elastic detent and disc structure is needed before tooling.
- Elastic fatigue. The slender injection-molded guides or metal pieces undergo repeated deformation. Material selection and guide thickness must be confirmed on prototypes to ensure the clamping force lasts through the expected cycle life.
Customization and manufacturing
What can be customized
| Area | Options |
|---|---|
| Diameter / footprint | Round, square, or kidney shapes sized to fit standard cabinet depths |
| Positioning angles | 4 guides for 90 degrees, or a different number of guides for other set angles |
| Guide material | Integrally molded POM plastic, or metal pieces with secondary overmolding |
| Rack tiers | Single level or multi-level stacking racks |
| Mounting | Direct to cabinet floor, on a bracket, or on a slide-out guide mechanism |
| Finish | Chrome wire, powder-coated steel, or solid plastic surfaces |
Things to plan for (US market)
- FDA 21 CFR - food contact compliance if the basket is marketed for direct kitchen food storage without liners.
- California Prop 65 - screening for restricted substances in plastics (POM) and metal platings.
- ANSI/KCMA A161.1 - performance standard for kitchen cabinets, covering shelf and accessory load testing.
How a project runs
- Inquiry - target cabinet dimensions, load requirements, material preferences, and quantities.
- Design - CAD modeling of the disc, guides, positioning piece, and rack geometry.
- Prototype - 3D printing or soft tooling to test the elastic deformation, snap force, and 90-degree alignment.
- Pilot run - injection molds or stamping dies produced; cycle testing to verify guide durability.
- Production - molding, metal forming, bearing assembly, and packaging.
Quantities & timeline
The rotary positioning disc requires precision injection molds, especially if the slender elastic guides and S-shaped supports are molded in one piece. Metal guide versions need stamping dies and secondary overmolding tools. Bearings and wire rack welding add assembly steps. Certification tests for food contact or chemical limits run concurrently with pilot samples. Send us your cabinet dimensions, preferred materials, angle settings, quantity and target price and we will reply with options.
