Juicer Bottle with a Built-In Hand Press

Fresh juice on the go usually means a separate squeezer, a strainer and a bottle - or a battery blender that needs charging. This bottle has a hand press built into it. A filter bowl sits in the mouth of the bottle; over it goes a press whose bottom is a hollow cone with a ribbed squeezing tip and whose top is shaped like a small bottle, so it is easy to grip. Put a lemon or orange half in the bowl, press and twist, and the juice runs through the holes into the bottle. The screw lid goes on over the press, and without the press the bottle is an ordinary water bottle.

🍋

Squeeze into the bottle

A ribbed cone press and filter bowl sit in the bottle's mouth - juice drains straight in.

✊

Easy to grip

The top of the press is shaped like a small bottle, so it works as a handle when twisting.

🧃

No batteries

A purely manual juicer - nothing to charge, nothing to plug in.

💧

Still a water bottle

Take the press out and it is an ordinary screw-top bottle with a hang loop.

The problem

People who add fresh lemon or orange juice to their water - at the gym, at work, on a hike - usually squeeze the fruit by hand or carry a separate squeezer. Hand squeezing is messy and wastes juice; a separate squeezer is one more thing to carry and wash. Portable electric blenders solve it but need charging and cost more. The patent puts a simple manual press inside the bottle itself.

The solution

The patent stacks a squeezer into the top of a bottle:

  1. The bottle (1) has a threaded mouth (101) and an inner ledge (102) just below it, a hang loop (103) and a handle (104) on the outside.
  2. A filter bowl (4) rests on the ledge. It has a rim (401), filter holes (402), a small handle (403) for lifting it out, and triangular ribs (404) inside.
  3. The press (3) sits on the bottle over the bowl. Its top is shaped like a small bottle - body (301), shoulder (302), neck (303) and cap (304) - and serves as the grip. Its bottom is a hollow upside-down cone (305) ending in a domed squeezing tip (306) with ribs (309), with an opening (308) at its base.
  4. The lid (2) screws onto the bottle over the press; its opening (202) lets the press’s neck and cap pass through, so the lid holds the press in place.
  5. Seal rings (5, 6) in the lid and on the bottle rim keep it from leaking.

Who it is for

  • Drinkware and water-bottle brands looking for a feature that turns a commodity bottle into a gift-worthy product.
  • Fitness and wellness retailers selling infused-water and lemon-water accessories.
  • Kitchen-gadget importers building ranges of manual, battery-free tools.
  • Promotional products companies that want a branded bottle with a reason to keep it.

2LidScrews on over the press and holds it down; opening for the press neck.

4Filter bowlHolds the fruit; holes let juice through and keep seeds and pulp back.

Making juice

  1. Take off the lid and lift out the press.
  2. Put half a lemon, lime or orange cut side up in the filter bowl.
  3. Press and twist the press down onto the fruit, holding its bottle-shaped top. The ribs on the tip and in the bowl break the fruit and the juice runs through the holes into the bottle.
  4. Add water if you like, put the press back and screw the lid on.
  5. Lift the bowl out by its handle to empty the peel and seeds.

Applications

Lemon water at work and the gym

Squeeze half a lemon into water in the morning without a cutting board, squeezer and sink.

Travel and hotel rooms

A bottle that makes fresh juice from fruit bought on the way, with nothing to plug in.

Kids’ lunch boxes

Fresh orange juice made at home in the same bottle that goes to school (with a child-friendly size and lid).

Picnics and outdoor trips

Lime for drinks or orange juice at camp, without carrying a squeezer.

Promotional and corporate gifts

A useful branded bottle that people keep using.

Where it is less suitable

  • Large quantities of juice - this is a single-serving hand press, not a replacement for a kitchen juicer.
  • Hard fruits and vegetables - apples, carrots and greens need a blender or juicer, not a citrus-style press.

Frequently asked questions

Which fruits does it work with?

The press is a cone with a ribbed tip, like a citrus reamer, so it suits lemons, limes, oranges and similar soft fruit halves. Hard fruits and vegetables need a blender.

How does the juice get into the bottle?

The fruit sits in a filter bowl at the top of the bottle. Pressing and twisting crushes it, and the juice runs through the bowl’s holes into the bottle while seeds and most pulp stay behind.

Do I have to take the press out to drink?

The lid screws on over the press, and the press’s bottle-shaped neck and cap pass through an opening in the lid. Drinking style - through the press, a flip-top or a straw lid - is chosen in design.

Can I use it just as a water bottle?

Yes. The patent describes it as an ordinary water bottle when you are not making juice, with a hang loop and a handle.

Is it easy to clean?

The press, filter bowl, lid and seals all come apart. We choose materials that are dishwasher-safe and test them.

What size can it be?

The patent does not give a capacity. Sizes are set in design for your market, from a small kids’ bottle to a large gym bottle.

Can this design be made and sold in the US?

The patent was filed only in China and has lapsed, so it does not restrict the design in the US or in China. Juicer bottles may be covered by other US patents - see Patent & Production - so we recommend a freedom-to-operate check before volume production.

Are you affiliated with the patent owner?

No. IP2M is an independent design and manufacturing service working from the public patent document.
