Roll-Up Travel Neck Pillow with Buckles

Travel neck pillows are comfortable on the plane and a nuisance everywhere else - too bulky for a bag and awkward to carry. This pillow has a buckle strap across the open front, so it stays around the neck, and a matching buckle on the back. Roll the pillow up, clip the front buckle to the back one, and it becomes a tight bundle that hangs from a carry loop.

  • China utility model - in force in China until Nov 2026 at most
  • No filings outside China
  • Travel accessories
  • Sewn fabric, foam fill, plastic buckles

Buckles shut at the front

Straps on both ends of the U clip together under the chin, so the pillow stays on when you sleep.

🌀

Rolls up small

A third buckle on the back takes the front buckle once the pillow is rolled - it stays rolled.

👜

Carry loop

A loop next to the back buckle lets the rolled pillow hang from a bag or a hand.

🧺

Zip-out filling

A zipper in the cover lets the sponge or foam-bead filling be removed or replaced.

The problem

A U-shaped neck pillow is one of the most common travel accessories - and one of the bulkiest. Off the plane it takes up half a carry-on or dangles from a strap. On the plane it slides off the neck as soon as you fall asleep.

The solution

The patent adds three buckles and a loop to a normal neck pillow:

  1. A first connector (2) and a second connector (3) - short straps - are sewn to the two ends of the pillow cover (1).
  2. The first connector carries a front buckle half (4) and the second the matching half (5). Clipped together under the chin, they close the U so the pillow stays on.
  3. A back buckle (6) is sewn on the outside of the middle of the pillow, at the bottom of the U. It matches either front buckle half.
  4. To pack it, roll the pillow up from the ends and clip a front buckle half to the back buckle. The pillow stays rolled.
  5. A carry loop (7) next to the back buckle lets the bundle hang from a bag or a finger.

The cover has a zipper for changing the filling, which can be sponge or foam beads, and the middle of the pillow is thicker than the ends to support the neck.

Frequently asked questions

What do the buckles do?

The front buckle closes the open side of the U under the chin so the pillow stays on. The back buckle holds the pillow rolled up for carrying.

How small does it pack?

The patent gives no dimensions. Rolled size depends on the filling - foam beads and soft sponge roll tighter than thick memory foam. We test the roll on samples.

Which fillings are possible?

The patent names sponge and foam beads. Memory foam and fiber fill are also common choices.

Is the cover washable?

The cover has a zipper, so the filling can be taken out and the cover washed.

Can it be made for children?

Yes, in a smaller size, with CPSIA testing and labeling for the US market.

Does it need special labels in the US?

Yes - many states require a stuffed-article law label and registration for filled products. We plan this into the project.

Can this design be made and sold in the US?

The patent was filed only in China, so it does not restrict the design in the US. It is in force in China until November 2026 at most, and making or selling it there needs the owner’s permission until then. Other neck-pillow designs may be patented - see Patent & Production - so we recommend a freedom-to-operate check before volume production.

Are you affiliated with the patent owner?

No. IP2M is an independent design and manufacturing service working from the public patent document.
