Patent CN207394276U
Updated October 23, 2026Phone Clip Mount with Fold-Out Stand Leg
Phone tripod adapters usually do one job: they clamp the phone and screw onto a tripod. This one adds a stand. The body is two parallel legs with a slot between them; a third leg folds out of the slot and turns a full circle, so the adapter stands on a desk by itself. On top, a ball joint with a locking knob tilts the phone or a small camera through 180 degrees. The flat, dovetailed base drops straight into an Arca-style quick-release clamp or screws onto a quick-release plate.

Splat! What let you down?
🦵
Fold-out leg
A third leg swings out of the body so the mount stands on a table by itself.
🧩
Fits tripod clamps
The flat base has dovetail edges for a quick-release clamp, and a screw hole for a quick-release plate.
🔄
Ball joint on top
A locking knob clamps the ball, so the phone or camera can be tilted through 180 degrees.
📱
Phone or camera
Takes a phone clamp, or a small mirrorless camera directly on the top screw.

The problem
Phone tripod mounts are sold by the million for vlogging, video calls and product photos, and most of them do exactly one thing: hold the phone on top of a tripod or selfie stick. Without the tripod the phone has nothing to stand on. Users end up carrying a mount, a tripod and often a separate desk stand - and swapping between them takes time.
The solution
The patent builds the stand into the mount itself:
- The body (1) is two parallel legs (11, 12) with a slot (4) between them.
- A third fold-out leg (3) is pinned at the bottom of the slot. Stored, it sits inside the slot; folded out, it turns up to 360 degrees and stands the mount on a table together with the two fixed feet.
- The fixed feet are triangular and wider than the legs. Their outer faces slope to form dovetail edges (14) that fit a tripod’s quick-release clamp. The bottom of the fold-out leg also has a screw hole (31) for a quick-release plate.
- On top, a ball joint (2) with a 1/4-inch-style screw is held between two clamp pads and locked by a knob (135). It tilts through 180 degrees in the same plane as the fold-out leg.
- A phone clamp (5) - or a small camera - screws onto the ball joint.

Who it is for
- Phone accessory and content-creator brands selling tripod mounts, vlogging kits and selfie sticks.
- Camera accessory companies looking for a compact Arca-compatible adapter with a built-in stand.
- Retail and e-commerce sellers who want a mount with a visible extra function in product photos.
How it works
The main parts

| No. | Part | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Body | Two parallel legs (11, 12) joined at the top by the joint housing (13). |
| 4 | Slot | Space between the legs that stores the fold-out leg. |
| 3 | Fold-out leg | Swings out of the slot; turns 360 degrees; screw hole (31) in its end. |
| 14 | Dovetail feet | Sloped outer faces that fit a quick-release clamp. |
| 2 | Ball joint | Ball with a mounting screw for the phone clamp or camera. |
| 131 | Joint base | Hollow housing with an arc slot (136) the ball’s neck moves in. |
| 132, 133 | Clamp pads | Grip the ball from both sides. |
| 134, 135 | Cover and knob | The knob’s screw pushes pad 133 to lock the ball. |
| 5 | Phone clamp | Spring clamp that holds the phone. |
On a tripod or selfie stick
- Leave the leg stored in the slot.
- Drop the dovetail base into the tripod clamp and tighten it - or screw a quick-release plate to the hole in the leg’s end.
- Loosen the knob, tilt the phone, tighten.

On a table
- Swing the leg out of the slot to the angle you need.
- Stand the mount on the two fixed feet and the end of the leg.
- Set the phone angle with the ball joint.

Applications
Vlogging and social video
Shoot on a tripod outdoors, then stand the phone on a café table with the same mount.
Video calls and remote work
A desk stand for the phone that also goes on a tripod for presentations.
Product photography
Small sellers photographing items on a table can switch between tripod and tabletop quickly.
Travel kits
One small piece replaces a separate mini-stand in a travel or creator kit.
Small cameras
Action cameras and compact mirrorless cameras can sit directly on the top screw.
Where it is less suitable
- Heavy cameras and long lenses - a small ball joint and a three-point desk stance suit phones and light cameras, not full-size DSLR rigs.
- Car and bike mounts - these need vibration-rated clamps, not a desk leg.
Frequently asked questions
Which tripods does it fit?
The base has dovetail edges for Arca-type quick-release clamps, and the end of the leg has a screw hole for a quick-release plate. With a plate it fits any tripod or selfie stick that takes one; we match the dovetail width to the clamps you sell with.
Is it steady enough on a table?
It stands on the two fixed feet and the end of the folded-out leg. Stability depends on the phone size and the angle of the leg, so we test with your target phones on prototypes.
Can it hold a camera instead of a phone?
Yes - the patent mentions mounting small cameras such as mirrorless models directly on the top connector. We set a load rating after testing.
Does the phone rotate to portrait?
The ball joint tilts through 180 degrees. Portrait/landscape turning is usually done in the phone clamp, which we can specify with a rotating head.
What is it made of?
The patent does not specify materials. Machined aluminum is typical for premium mounts; die-cast aluminum or reinforced nylon for larger, lower-cost runs.
Can you supply it as part of a kit?
Yes - with a mini tripod, selfie stick, light or pouch, in your packaging.
Can this design be made and sold in the US?
The patents were filed only in China, so they do not restrict the design in the US. The invention patent CN106989257B is in force in China until May 2037 at most, so making or selling it there needs the owner’s permission. Phone and tripod mounts are a crowded category - see Patent & Production - so we recommend a freedom-to-operate check before volume production.
Are you affiliated with the patent owner?
No. IP2M is an independent design and manufacturing service working from the public patent documents.
