What the claims cover, in plain language

Claim 1 - A baby stroller frame (0) comprising a first supporting rack (1) with at least one first wheel (11) at its lower end; a second supporting rack (2) rotationally connected at its upper end to the upper end of the first rack, with at least one second wheel (21) at its lower end; a seat support base (3) that moves back and forth along the first rack and sits at its upper end when unfolded; a seat (5) pivotally connected at its lower end to the seat support base; a control handle (51) connected to the seat; and a fold control mechanism (14) that moves the seat and seat support base down the first rack so the second rack pivots toward the first rack to fold.

Claim 2 - Adds a coupled frame (4) rotatably connected between the seat support base (3) and the second supporting rack (2) to drive the fold. Claim 3 - The folded frame stands on the first wheels (11) and one end of the seat (5). Claim 4 - Two first wheels and two parallel first racks, allowing the folded frame to stand on both wheels. Claim 5 - In the unfolded state the first racks are beside the control handle; in the folded state the seat, handle and second rack overlap partly on the first rack. Claim 6 - A second locking mechanism (12) and the fold control mechanism (14) interlock so the second locking mechanism unlocks for folding and auto-locks when the frame reaches the vertical use state. Claim 7 onward - Further details on the placement of the second locking mechanism between the first and second racks.

This is a simplified reading for orientation only. The legal scope is defined by the exact claim wording in the official Chinese document.

What this means for US production

This patent was filed only in China and has been withdrawn (the owner actively abandoned the right effective 2023-06-02), so it no longer restricts anyone in China either. It has no US or other foreign counterpart.

Two points to settle early:

  • Other patents may exist. Baby stroller folding mechanisms and reversible-seat linkages are heavily patented worldwide. Kombi Co., Ltd. holds later foreign filings citing this document (e.g., WO2025069294A1), indicating active patenting in this field by other companies. A freedom-to-operate (FTO) review covering slide-to-fold linkages and auto-locking joints is essential before tooling.
  • Structural load paths. The seat support base slides under the child’s weight; tube wall thickness, joint materials and pivot pin diameters must be confirmed on prototypes to meet durability cycles.

Customization and manufacturing

What can be customized

AreaOptions
Frame materialAluminum alloy or steel tubes, to be confirmed in design
Wheel sizeDiameter and tread set in design / confirmed on prototypes
Seat fabricRemovable covers, padding thickness, colorways
Handle heightTelescoping or fixed positions, set in design
Locking feelSpring tension for the fold control mechanism and seat rotation
BrandingLaser etching, riveted badges or molded logos on plastic caps

Things to plan for (US market)

  • CPSC 16 CFR 1227 / ASTM F833 - Standard consumer safety specification for carriages and strollers sold in the US; covers latching, locking, stability, scissor points and dynamic load tests.
  • California Proposition 65 - Plastics, paints and metal finishes must be screened for listed substances.
  • CPSIA Section 101 - Lead content limits in substrate and surface coatings for children’s products.
  • Tracking labels - Mandatory permanent markings identifying the manufacturer, date and batch.

How a project runs

  1. Inquiry - Target market, required standards, quantities and desired features.
  2. Design - Tube bending profiles, joint geometry, coupled-frame link lengths and locking mechanisms.
  3. Prototype - Samples built for fold-action verification, standing balance and seat-rotation checks.
  4. Testing - Third-party lab evaluation against ASTM F833 and applicable chemical rules.
  5. Production - Tube cutting, bending, welding or riveting, powder coating, plastic injection molding for joints, fabric sewing and final assembly.

Quantities & timeline

Tube bending dies, welding jigs and plastic injection molds for the joints and locking housings are needed for each frame size. Certification testing against ASTM F833 requires multiple samples and takes several weeks depending on lab schedules. Send us your target market, required standards, estimated quantity, preferred materials and any specific features and we will reply with options.
