What the claims cover, in plain language
Claim 1 - a self-wringing mop with a pole, a mop head that carries the pad and is movably joined to the bottom of the pole, and a handle on the pole that carries a wringer and can move relative to the pole. To wring, the head turns into the wringing position and the handle moves so that head and wringer come together. The key point: the wringer opens out as it approaches the head, and folds up when the handle moves back for mopping.
Claims 2-11 cover the wringer hiding inside the handle when folded, a drive block on the pole that opens and closes hinged wringer plates, two plates joined by a tension spring, and a lock that holds the plates during wringing.
Claims 12-17 cover the push-rod version: a push rod on the pole carrying two wringer plates, connecting arms from the handle to the plates, a catch-and-guide between pole and push rod, and a handle with upper and lower latch positions.
Claims 18-20 cover pads on both faces of the head, the head turning into the same plane as the pole for wringing, and the slot-and-joint connection.
This is a simplified reading for orientation only. The legal scope is defined by the exact claim wording in the official Chinese document.
What this means for US production
This patent was filed only in China, and it lapsed in 2025 because annual fees were not paid. It no longer restricts anyone - in China or elsewhere.
Before production, keep in mind:
- Other patents may exist. Self-wringing flat mops are a busy category with many US utility and design patents on wringers, joints and pad clips. Use your own styling and have a freedom-to-operate (FTO) search done by a US patent attorney before volume production.
Customization and manufacturing
What can be customized
| Area | Options |
|---|---|
| Head width | Compact, standard or wide flat heads - size set with you |
| Pads | Microfiber, chenille, scrubbing or disposable pads; hook-and-loop or clip-on fixing |
| Pole | Steel or aluminum tube; fixed or telescopic; grip shape |
| Wringer | Plate material and spacing tuned to the pad thickness |
| Colors & branding | Brand colors, logo on the handle sleeve, pad colors |
| Packaging | Retail box, hang card or e-commerce mailer; refill pad packs |
Things to plan for (US market)
- Pad materials - state the fiber content on the label (textile labeling rules apply to pads sold separately).
- Durability - cycle-test the joint, catches and wringer arms; the wringer gets thousands of strokes.
- Amazon listings - check category requirements and prepare clear “how to wring” images or video.
How a project runs
- Inquiry - target market, head size, pad type and quantity.
- Design - plastic parts, linkage geometry, pad attachment.
- Prototype - samples for wringing and cycle tests.
- Pilot run - small batch to check fit, finish and packaging.
- Production - volume production, packaging and shipping.
Quantities & timeline
The handle sleeve, plates, arms and head are injection-molded, so molds are needed; poles and pads are standard parts. Send us your head size, pad type, quantity and target price and we will reply with options.
