What the claims cover, in plain language
Claim 1 - a fishing box with a hollow body and a lid. The lid has a first face and an opposite second face; when the lid is closed, one of them sits inside the box. The lid is joined to the box by a removable hinge shaft, so the two faces can swap places.
Claim 2 - a groove in the lid’s side wall that fits a ledge on the box rim. Claim 3 - a cushion on one end of a face, with one edge set into a first recess. Claims 4-5 - a backrest on a hinged bracket with a back pad, folding into a second recess. Claims 6-8 - a storage chamber in a face with a hinged cover plate, held by a two-part buckle; one part is a hook on a hinged connecting piece, released by a spring-loaded button. Claim 9 - the two faces are fastened together. Claim 10 - at least one side of the lid is hinged to the top edge of the box, and/or two symmetric removable shafts let the lid open from either side.
This is a simplified reading for orientation only. The legal scope is defined by the exact claim wording in the official Chinese document.
What this means for US production
This patent was filed only in China, and it lapsed for non-payment of annual fees (recorded in 2022). It no longer restricts anyone - in China or elsewhere.
Before production, keep in mind:
- Other patents may exist. Fishing seat boxes, tackle boxes with seats and camp seats are made by many brands, some with US patents or design patents. Use your own styling and have a freedom-to-operate (FTO) search done by a US patent attorney before volume production.
