What the claims cover, in plain language
Claim 1 - a school bag made of an inner organizer placed inside an outer bag, with a cushion and a strap. The organizer has a base board with an upper and a lower end panel that close together with hook-and-loop, and a fold line in the middle. Above the fold, from left to right: a bottle pocket, a stationery pocket and a stationery hanger; below the fold, two workbook pockets, one above the other.
Claim 2 - a handle with a protective cover on the top of the base board. Claim 3 - a sponge cushion bonded to the back of the base board. Claim 4 - straps with adjuster buckles on both ends of the upper end panel. Claim 5 - a removable pencil case attached to the fold area with hook-and-loop.
This is a simplified reading for orientation only. The legal scope is defined by the exact claim wording in the official Chinese document.
What this means for US production
This patent was filed only in China, and it lapsed in 2025 because annual fees were not paid. It no longer restricts anyone - in China or elsewhere.
Before production, keep in mind:
- Other patents may exist. Backpacks and organizers have many US design patents. Use your own styling and have a freedom-to-operate (FTO) search done by a US patent attorney before volume production.

Things to plan for (US market)
- Children’s product rules - school bags for children 12 and under are children’s products: plan for lead and phthalate limits, third-party testing, a Children’s Product Certificate and tracking labels.
- Small parts - keep buckles and zipper pulls securely attached.
- Labeling - fiber content and care labels.
How a project runs
- Inquiry - age group, sizes, materials and quantity.
- Design - pattern, pocket layout, board inserts and prints.
- Prototype - samples for fit in your backpacks and for use tests.
- Pilot run - small batch with testing and packaging checks.
- Production - volume production, packaging and shipping.
Quantities & timeline
This is a cut-and-sew product with standard trims, so no expensive tooling is needed; custom prints add sampling time. Send us your sizes, materials, quantity and target price and we will reply with options.
