Updated October 25, 2026Rotating Sweeper Trampoline: Jump the Spinning Inflatable Arm
Trampoline parks keep adding games that turn bouncing into a challenge - dodgeball courts, basketball lanes, foam pits. This design brings the arcade 'sweeper' game to the trampoline. A hexagonal or octagonal frame has a central support and an outer frame joined by upper and lower spoke rods, with an elastic jumping bed stretched between each pair of upper spokes. At the center, a motor with its shaft pointing up turns an inflatable arm slowly around over the beds. Players stand on the beds and jump as the arm comes by. The arm is an inflated tube, so it does not hurt when it touches someone, and the patent describes it turning back on contact; the spokes and the center are wrapped in soft padding.

The problem
Trampoline parks and family entertainment centers need new attractions to bring customers back. Plain jumping gets repetitive, and many games depend on staff running them. According to the patent, a rotating obstacle on a trampoline must not injure players when it touches them, and the trampoline’s bounce should make it easy to get over the obstacle.
The solution
- The trampoline body (1) is a hexagon or octagon.
- It has a central support frame (11) and an outer support frame (12), joined by several upper spoke rods (13) and lower spoke rods (14).
- An elastic jumping bed is stretched between each pair of neighboring upper spoke rods, giving one bed per sector.
- The upper spoke rods and central frame are covered with a soft protective layer.
- A rotating motor (2) sits on top of or inside the central frame, with its output shaft pointing up.
- An inflatable swing arm (3) is mounted on the shaft. When the motor runs, the arm turns slowly over the beds; according to the patent, it is soft, turns back when it meets resistance, and does not bruise players who touch it.

Who it is for
- Trampoline park operators adding a timed, competitive game that runs without a referee.
- Family entertainment center builders designing new attractions for indoor play zones.
- Inflatable and amusement equipment makers extending a line of party games to permanent installations.
- Event and party rental companies looking for a crowd-pleasing game for festivals and corporate events.
How it works
The main parts

| No. | Part | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Trampoline body | Hexagonal or octagonal frame. |
| 11 | Central support frame | Center structure carrying the motor. |
| 12 | Outer support frame | Perimeter of the trampoline. |
| 13, 14 | Upper and lower spoke rods | Join center and perimeter; beds hang between the upper rods. |
| - | Elastic jumping beds | One per sector. |
| 2 | Rotating motor | Turns the arm; shaft points up. |
| 3 | Inflatable swing arm | The obstacle players jump over. |
Playing
- Players take a bed each, one per sector.
- The operator starts the motor - the arm begins to sweep slowly around.
- Players jump as the arm comes by; anyone who is touched is out.
- Speed steps up in later rounds to raise the challenge (set in the control design).

Applications
Trampoline parks
A rotating game zone draws groups and parties and gives regulars a reason to come back.
Family entertainment centers
The game fits beside arcades, soft play and laser tag as a short, high-energy attraction.
Fitness and ninja gyms
Coaches can use the sweeper for agility and timing drills.
Festivals and corporate events
A rental version gives event organizers a game that crowds watch as well as play.
Where it is less suitable
- Backyard use - this is commercial amusement equipment that needs supervision, matting and maintenance.
- Very young children - jumping over a moving arm suits older children and adults; toddlers need separate areas.
- Low-ceiling sites - jumping height plus the arm height needs a high ceiling.
Frequently asked questions
How is the game played?
Each player stands on one jumping bed. A motor at the center turns an inflatable arm slowly over the beds, and players jump to let it pass underneath. Anyone the arm touches is out.
What happens when the arm hits someone?
The arm is an inflated tube. The patent says it does not hurt on contact and turns back when it meets resistance. Torque limits, auto-reverse and an emergency stop are set in the control design.
How fast does the arm turn?
The patent describes a slow rotation. Speed steps for different rounds and age groups are set in the controller and tested on the prototype.
How many players can play?
One per bed - six on a hexagonal layout or eight on an octagonal one.
Can it be installed in an existing trampoline park?
It is a self-contained frame, so it can stand on its own or be set into a floor pit. Ceiling height and safety zones around it are checked for the site.
Is it suitable for outdoor events?
Yes, as a rental unit with weather covers and an outdoor-rated motor and blower, set up on level ground.
Can this design be made and sold in the US?
The patent was filed only in China and has lapsed, so it does not restrict the design in the US or in China. Trampoline and sweeper games may be covered by other US patents - see Patent & Production - so we recommend a freedom-to-operate check before volume production.
