What the claims cover, in plain language
Claim 1 - a portable outdoor lamp with a lamp assembly - a handle and lampshade joined in a ring, a light tube in the shade, a first battery in the handle, a charging hole on the outer side of the handle and a switch - and a lamp holder made of a base and a clamping piece that moves between a clamped and an unlocked state. Clamped, base and clamp form a slot that holds the lamp. The base has a charging plug matching the lamp’s charging hole, a second battery feeding that plug, and a second charging hole for the second battery.
Claim 2 - the handle and shade form a ring with a circular cross-section. Claims 3-6 - further features described in the patent, such as the cone-shaped base and its groove, the magnetic blocks, the base switch, and a lamp group made of several lamps and holders.
This is a simplified reading for orientation only. The legal scope is defined by the exact claim wording in the official Chinese document.
What this means for US production
This patent was filed only in China and has lapsed, so it no longer restricts anyone in China either. It has no US or other foreign counterpart.
Two points to settle early:
- Other patents may exist. Rechargeable lanterns with charging docks and cordless table lamps with charging bases are well represented in US patents and design patents; a freedom-to-operate (FTO) review, including design patents on lamp shapes, should come before tooling.
- Battery sizing. Run time and how many recharges the base can deliver depend on both battery capacities and the LED power; these are set together in design.
Customization and manufacturing
What can be customized
| Area | Options |
|---|---|
| Ring | Diameter, shade material (frosted PE, PC, glass-look acrylic), handle finish |
| Light | LED color temperature, dimming steps, RGB or flicker-flame modes |
| Batteries | Lamp and base capacities, USB-C charging, optional solar top on the base |
| Base | Cone, square or wooden base; clamp style; weighted base |
| Group sets | Two-, three- or four-lamp plates for hospitality |
| Branding | Colors, logo on the base, gift and retail packaging |
Things to plan for (US market)
- UL 153 / UL 8750 - portable luminaire and LED driver safety; retailers often ask for an NRTL listing.
- UN 38.3 and IEC 62133 - both lithium batteries need transport testing and cell safety certification.
- FCC Part 15 - the LED driver and charging electronics need unintentional-radiator compliance.
- California Title 20 battery charger efficiency - applies to the charging system of products sold in California.
- Outdoor rating - an IP rating (for example IPX4) should be tested if the product is sold for outdoor use.
How a project runs
- Inquiry - ring size, light modes, run-time target and quantity.
- Design - shade, handle, base and both battery packs; charging circuit.
- Prototype - working samples for run time, docking, clamp feel and water resistance.
- Pilot run - small batch for safety, battery and FCC testing and packaging.
- Production - volume production, packaging and shipping.
Quantities & timeline
The shade, handle, base and clamp need injection molds, the light needs an LED board and driver, both batteries need packs with protection circuits, and certifications run in parallel with the pilot run. Most development time goes into the docking contacts and battery sizing. Send us your ring size, light modes, run-time target, quantity and target price and we will reply with options.
