What the claims cover, in plain language
Claim 1 - an impact-resistant glove with an impact layer made of many lattice cells connected in series, each a three-dimensional open network.
Claims 2-3 - each cell has one or more spatial polygon shapes; the cells form a 3D array. Claims 4-5 - the glove has an outer skin, the impact layer and a liner, with the impact layer between them covering at least the back of the fingers and hand. Claims 6-9 - TPU guards over the proximal and distal finger joints, made by additive manufacturing, covered by the skin, with a wrinkled area at the knuckle transition. Claim 10 - a diagonal texture where the knuckles meet the back of the hand. Claims 11-12 - a knitted liner and a skin of PU, TPU or high-elasticity nitrile, which can be transparent or translucent. Claims 13-16 - an accessory area on the back of the hand with sensing or indicating devices, such as an LED light and a battery connector.
This is a simplified reading for orientation only. The legal scope is defined by the exact claim wording in the official Chinese document.
What this means for US production
This patent was filed only in China. It is still in force in China, so making or selling this design in China would need the owner’s permission while it lasts (at most until 2030-09-22). It has no US or other foreign counterpart and does not restrict the design outside China.
Before production, keep in mind:
- Other patents may exist. 3D-printed lattice padding is patented by footwear, helmet and additive-manufacturing companies, and impact-glove layouts are patented by safety-glove brands; a US fight-glove maker’s later filing cites this patent. Have a freedom-to-operate (FTO) search done by a US patent attorney before volume production.
- Printing cost. Printed lattices are still slower and costlier than molded padding; the cell design and print process decide whether the glove hits its price.
Customization and manufacturing
What can be customized
| Area | Options |
|---|---|
| Lattice | Cell shape, size and stiffness; printed TPU or elastomer; coverage area |
| Liner | Nylon, HPPE or aramid knit; cut-resistant liner for combined ratings |
| Palm coating | Nitrile, PU or sandy nitrile for grip; oil-grip options |
| Outer skin | Transparent, translucent or colored; hi-vis colors |
| Knuckle guards | Printed or molded TPU; size by glove size |
| Accessory area | LED light module, rechargeable battery, sensor mount |
Things to plan for (US market)
- ANSI/ISEA 138 - impact protection testing and rating (levels 1-3) for the back of the hand, done by an accredited lab.
- ANSI/ISEA 105 - cut, puncture and abrasion ratings if those are claimed; liner choice drives the cut level.
- OSHA 29 CFR 1910.138 - employers choose gloves by hazard; clear ratings on the label help buyers comply.
- LED module - battery cells to UL 2054 or UL 62133 with UN 38.3 transport testing; FCC Part 15 if electronics with a sensor are added.
- California Prop 65 - review coatings, TPU and dyes.
How a project runs
- Inquiry - industry, rating targets, liner, coating and quantity.
- Design - lattice cell, coverage map and glove pattern sizes.
- Prototype - printed lattice samples and sewn gloves for fit and impact pre-tests.
- Pilot run - small batch with ANSI/ISEA 138 and 105 lab testing.
- Production - volume production, packaging and shipping.
Quantities & timeline
The glove needs knitting programs for the liner, dipping lines for the palm coating, a qualified printing process (or molds) for the lattice and guards, and lab rating before launch. Send us your industry, ratings, quantity and target price and we will reply with options.
