What the claims cover, in plain language

Claim 1 - a brushing device with a housing and a brush head outside it. Inside are a brush drive (a drive unit and a drive shaft that leaves the housing to turn the brush) and a liquid drive. A liquid tank is removably attached to the housing, with a check valve at its outlet that closes when the tank is removed and opens when it is fitted. The drive shaft has an axial through hole, and the liquid drive pushes cleaner from the tank through the hole to the brush.

Claim 2 - the check valve is a perforated baffle, a spring and a plug, opened by a pin on the housing. Claim 3 - alternatively, a one-way solenoid valve. Claims 4-5 - a nozzle with a smaller orifice at the brush end of the hole, threaded to the shaft, with a bowl-shaped tip. Claim 6 onward - a liquid chamber around the shaft with a rotating seal, the offset motor and gears, and the layout of tank, head and handle.

This is a simplified reading for orientation only. The legal scope is defined by the exact claim wording in the official Chinese document.

What this means for US production

This patent was filed only in China. It is still in force in China, so making or selling this design in China would need the owner’s permission while it lasts (at most until 2031-01-28). It has no US or other foreign counterpart and does not restrict the design outside China.

Two points to settle early:

  • Other patents may exist. Powered scrub brushes and spin scrubbers are sold by many US cleaning brands, some with dispensing features and patents of their own, so a freedom-to-operate (FTO) review of the hollow-shaft feed and tank valve is needed before tooling.
  • Water and electrics. The layout separates the tank from the battery, but the whole tool still needs a water-ingress rating proven by testing.

Customization and manufacturing

What can be customized

AreaOptions
Brush headsSoft, medium and stiff bristles; sponge and pad heads; quick-change fit
TankCapacity, clear window, cleaner concentrate cartridges
DriveBrush speed settings, oscillating or rotating action
PumpFlow rate, on-demand trigger or continuous feed
BatteryLi-ion capacity, USB-C charging, charge indicator
KitShoe cleaner, towel, storage case, gift packaging

Things to plan for (US market)

  • UL 1647 or UL 60335-based safety evaluation - battery-powered household appliances are evaluated for electrical safety and water ingress (IPX rating tested).
  • Lithium battery - cells and packs tested to UL 2054 or IEC 62133 and shipped under UN 38.3.
  • FCC Part 15 - the motor and pump control electronics need FCC verification.
  • DOE battery charger efficiency (10 CFR 430) - applies to the charger supplied with the tool.
  • Cleaner formula - if a cleaner is sold with the kit, its label and safety data sheet follow EPA, OSHA HazCom and state VOC rules.

How a project runs

  1. Inquiry - target use, brush heads, tank size, battery and quantity.
  2. Design - housing split, gear and offset motor, hollow shaft and seal, tank valve.
  3. Prototype - working samples for scrubbing, leak and run-time tests.
  4. Pilot run - IP, battery and FCC testing, drop tests, packaging.
  5. Production - housing molding, gear and motor assembly, pump and valve assembly, final tests.

Quantities & timeline

The housing, tank, brush heads and gears need injection molds, the rotating seal and check valve need small precision parts, and the motor, pump and battery are sourced to specification. Leak-proofing and the hollow-shaft seal take the most development time. Send us your brush heads, tank size, battery, kit contents, quantity and target price and we will reply with options.
