What the claims cover, in plain language

Claim 1 - a telescopic folding table with a tabletop (100) made of two butted main panels (1a, 1b) and a movable panel (1c) placed between them. A table frame (200) includes a supporting frame (4) and foldable foot rest units (2). The supporting frame (4) has pivot devices (41), longitudinal rods (42) and transverse rods (43), and folds around pivot shafts (411). The main panels (1a, 1b) slide back and forth along the length direction via a sliding mechanism to form a neutral position (10) sized to hold the movable panel (1c).

Claim 2 - the sliding mechanism uses a sliding rail (8) fixed to the main panels, which mates with the longitudinal rod (42). The rail (8) has sliding grooves (81) containing a pin blocking piece (9) connected to the rod. Claim 3 - the panels are hollow blow-molded parts. Their butt surfaces have staggered grooves (14) and lugs (13) that embed into each other when joined. Claims 4-6 - two or more sliding grooves (81) each at least half the length of the movable panel; the longitudinal rod (42) is a hollow pipe and the rail (8) is a strip plate; clamping pieces (17) under the movable panel attach to the legs, and a jack (15) with a plug cover is at a corner. Claims 7-8 - foldable pulley pieces (3) at the bottom whose wheels (31) contact the ground when folded; a pull rod (5) arranged in a T-shape to the pulleys that slides out from the tabletop; and a bearing frame (6) that also slides out.

This is a simplified reading for orientation only. The legal scope is defined by the exact claim wording in the official Chinese document.

What this means for US production

This patent was filed only in China and is currently in force there. Because there is no US counterpart, making or selling this table design in the United States is not restricted by this specific Chinese utility model. However, making or selling the product in China needs the owner’s permission while the patent remains active.

Two points to settle early:

  • Other patents may exist. Folding tables with extension leaves and integrated transport features are widely patented by major outdoor furniture makers. A freedom-to-operate (FTO) review covering the sliding rail mechanism, interlocking blow-molded seams, and trolley conversion is recommended before opening molds.
  • Panel dimensions and wall thickness. The blow-molded panels must balance weight and load capacity. Mold design determines the final outer dimensions, wall thickness, and the exact fit of the lugs and grooves.

Customization and manufacturing

What can be customized

AreaOptions
Overall lengthClosed and extended lengths to be confirmed in design
Panel colorStandard blow-molding colors (white, gray, speckled)
Frame finishPowder-coated steel tubes in various colors
Number of insertsOne movable panel is described; additional panels require longer travel grooves
AccessoriesJack size for umbrella or lamp poles, cup holders molded into the surface
Wheel typeStandard hard wheels or rubber-tread casters for indoor floors

Things to plan for (US market)

  • ANSI/BIFMA X5.5 - desk and table products standard covering stability, vertical load, and horizontal force tests applicable to folding tables.
  • California Prop 65 - HDPE resin, colorants, and powder-coat formulations must be screened for listed chemicals.
  • CPSC 16 CFR 1203 - not applicable to tables, but if the product is marketed with seating for children, related juvenile furniture rules should be checked.
  • ISTA 3A / 6-Amazon - packaging testing standards required by major e-commerce platforms to prevent damage during parcel shipping.

How a project runs

  1. Inquiry - target sizes, load requirements, color, and estimated volume.
  2. Design - 3D modeling of the blow-molded panels, sliding rail geometry, and frame pivot points.
  3. Prototype - CNC-machined or soft-tooled panels assembled with sample frames to verify sliding action and interlocking fit.
  4. Pilot run - production molds opened; sample tables undergo BIFMA stability and load tests.
  5. Production - extrusion blow molding, steel tube cutting and welding, powder coating, hardware assembly, and carton packing.

Quantities & timeline

The main panels require large aluminum blow molds, one for the main panel and one for the movable panel. The supporting frame needs tube-bending dies, welding jigs, and powder-coating racks. The sliding rails and pulley pieces require stamping dies or injection molds depending on material choice. Certification tests such as BIFMA load cycles add time to the pilot phase. Send us your target dimensions, load requirements, colors, quantity and target price and we will reply with options.
